Did you know that 'National Find a Rainbow Day' is April 3rd? Now, finding rainbows can be hard given that they only show up after a storm of some sort. However, you can create your own rainbow with the clothing that you wear! 

The color red signifies passion, love or anger. Red has been associated with both cupid (love) and the devil (anger). Red can have a physical effect on people, with raising both blood pressure and rates of respiration, enhancing metabolism has been shown to occur as well.Red is also associated with important events, such as the red carpet. The color red expresses different emotions in each country. While in China, red symbolizes prosperity and happiness, in South Africa red is the color of mourning and communism. Red is also associated with the AIDS campaign in Africa. 

The color orange signifies vibrant and energy in all forms. Orange is often tied to change, movement, creativity, vitality and health. Orange can be seen in many different forms and colors, signifying change and evolution.  Orange is also seen as less in your face and more friendly and welcoming to all. 

The color yellow signifies happiness and sunshine as it is the color most readily seen when the sun is shining. Yellow can also connotate someone being a coward and deceitful. The color yellow means different things in different countries, such as yellow being the color for mourning in Egypt and courage in Japan while being the merchant color in India. Yellow can also be the color for hope as it is for many who have family members and friends who are in the military, ie: the yellow ribbon around trees. 

The color green signifies new beginnings and growth like the earth whose prominent color is green.  Green can signify abundance and renewal in self but also is associated with envy, jealousy and a lack of experience for some. Money is prominently the color green in the United States, signifying a meaning of wealth and stability.  

The color blue signifies sadness most commonly. Blue is also used extensively to represent calmness and responsibility. Light blues can be refreshing and friendly. Dark blues are more strong and reliable. Blue is also associated with peace and has spiritual and religious connotations in many cultures and traditions (for example, the Virgin Mary is generally depicted wearing blue robes).The meaning of blue is widely affected depending on the exact shade and hue. In design, the exact shade of blue you select will have a huge impact on how your designs are perceived. Light blues are often relaxed and calming. Bright blues can be energizing and refreshing. Dark blues, like navy, are excellent for corporate sites or designs where strength and reliability are important.

The color violet or purple signifies creativity and imagination as it is a combination of red and blue. The color purple was, at one time, only worn by the very wealthy as it was a hard color to achieve. In Thailand, purple is the color of mourning for widows. Dark purples are traditionally associated with wealth and royalty, while lighter purples (like lavender) are considered more romantic.In design, dark purples can give a sense wealth and luxury. Light purples are softer and are associated with spring and romance.
