CoCo Couture’s latest model, Grissell Alegria, is used to performing on her toes — literally. A former ballerina, Grissell leveraged her professional ballet training to make for a truly remarkable photo shoot at our boutique. She demonstrated that perfect ballerina posture and poise. She shared stories of life on the stage. And in the face of unpleasant winter weather outdoors, she displayed incredible grace, proving that ballerinas know how to adapt and be “flexible” in any situation. Maybe we could all benefit from a bit of ballet discipline?
Grissell has retired from ballet dancing professionally and has a new starring role: she is a Lake Norman realtor with Helen Adams Realty. As a realtor, Grissell still pivots and pirouettes (at least metaphorically!) from client appointments to open houses to community networking events, and then home to her husband and two children. In a nutshell, she manages to execute work-life balance as flawlessly as Misty Copeland executes a grand jete (again, maybe we could all benefit from ballet training!).
We’ll soon be sliding into Spring, which means we’ll all need a few key transition pieces. These include tops that can be layered now for added warmth or worn on their own as the temps begin to rise. Here are the six wardrobe winners that Grissell chose.
Power Print
An animal-print sweater is the ideal way to amp up everyday skinny jeans and slip-on sneakers. The roomy design features a breathable, lightweight knit and scoop neck — perfect for layering on top of a cami or tank. Click here to shop our olive and cream zebra-print sweater.
The Perfect Windbreaker

To Dye For
Elevated loungewear (that feels like your comfiest pair of pajamas) is the new way to do daytime casual. In keeping with the trend, Grissell took home this soft-as-a-cloud, pastel tie-dye top with flattering cowl neck.

Trendspotting
Spots are an enduring trend and add graphic impact on this deep forest green jumpsuit with tie details, pockets and defined waist. In colder temps, top it off with a crisp blazer or moto jacket.

When she’s not showing fabulous homes to her clients and hosting open houses, Grissell regularly attends WINS coffee meetups, organized and sponsored by the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce. She believes in the power of networking and is a strong supporter of local, women-owned businesses. “I personally feel women are skilled at networking and connecting,” said Grissell. “We care and build strong communities. Supporting and shopping locally is something I feel very passionate about.”
In her spare time, she continues to tap into her passion for ballet dancing by teaching her daughter on a weekly basis.
