Living the Dream
At CoCo Couture, if we’re not talking about the latest fashion, then we’re probably talking about our pets!
Did you know: CoCo owner/manager Candace Bongiovanni is the mom of three dogs and the caretaker of lots more four-legged friends on her Asheboro farm? If you’re a CoCo customer, you must love animals!
For this week’s photo shoot, we invited like-minded animal lover and Veterinarian Dr. Carrie Uehlein of Whole Pet Veterinary.
Dr. Carrie Uehlein is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Lorain, Ohio, the desire for a better quality of life led her to the Lake Norman area of North Carolina. She eventually joined the team at Whole Pet Veterinary Hospital in Davidson as both Veterinarian and Hospital Director.
Here are five facts we learned about Dr. Carrie:
No backup plan: For Carrie, becoming a veterinarian always has been her end game. She is blessed to have felt her calling as a very young child and even more blessed to be living her dream.
She's multi-passionate: Carrie had many interests in veterinary school, ranging from surgery to oncology. As she soon realized, what she really wanted to do was do it all! Becoming a general practitioner gave her the benefit of serving the broad spectrum of health needs of pets, while fulfilling her multi-passionate nature.
More than a Vet: As Carrie says, we all have a story to tell. And she loves hearing about her clients personal stories. Her willingness to lend an ear and really, truly listen to the pet owners she serves is just one of the many reasons why clients keep coming back. Not only is she a pet healer but a people therapist!
Alternative medicine expert: Dr. Carrie is certified in acupuncture and has studied Chinese herbs, Western supplements, and food therapy. To get the best results, she takes a common-sense, broad spectrum approach to treatment by integrating different types of medicine.
Pet crazy: As a pet mom herself — to dog Tate and cat Ketch — Dr. Carrie understands how upsetting and stressful it can be when your pet is sick. She has been “in your shoes” and can help you navigate your pet’s care plan with compassion and understanding.
