Meet Betsy Gall Moody

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Betsy is a woman of many talents. She is both an accomplished author and a respected Real Estate Advisor with Cotter’s, helping clients navigate important life transitions while also sharing her personal story through writing.

A Heart for Others

One of Betsy’s favorite quotes comes from the legendary Maya Angelou:

“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.”

It’s a sentiment that perfectly reflects who Betsy is. When asked why this quote resonates with her, she explained that everyone needs love and support during difficult times. Her kindness, empathy, and positive outlook are qualities that shine brightly in everything she does.

Fashion with Timeless Elegance

If Betsy were invited to a gala at the White House, she would choose a look that is polished, elegant, and understated. Depending on the occasion, she envisions wearing a long gown in soft shades of white or pink—classic colors that embody sophistication and grace.

Her fashion philosophy mirrors her personality: refined, confident, and effortlessly chic.

Giving Back

Betsy is passionate about supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Two causes especially close to her heart are:

Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes Foundation, which supports healthcare workers and their well-being.
Angel Foundation, which provides assistance and support to cancer patients and their families.

Her commitment to helping others reflects a deep appreciation for resilience, compassion, and community.

Meet Nola

No spotlight on Betsy would be complete without mentioning her beloved companion, Nola, a beautiful 2-year-old British Cream Golden Retriever.

According to Betsy:

“She brings laughter and love into my life daily.”

Anyone who has met a Golden Retriever knows exactly what she means!

A Story of Strength

Betsy’s professional journey is both inspiring and deeply personal.

Her career in real estate began when she obtained her license to renovate and “flip” a home near her lake property. What started as a single project quickly grew into a thriving business and successful career.

In addition to real estate, Betsy became an author after experiencing profound personal loss. Following the passing of her husband, an oncologist, she felt called to share her story through writing. Her courage and willingness to transform hardship into purpose are truly inspiring.

Life Outside of Work

When she’s not helping clients or writing, Betsy enjoys:

Downhill skiing
Hot yoga
Spending time outdoors
Long walks with Nola
Decorating and remodeling homes

Her love for design, beauty, and creativity extends into every aspect of her life.

Betsy’s Fashion Must-Have

When asked which accessory is most important—shoes, jewelry, or a purse—Betsy offered a beautiful answer:

“Your smile is your most important accessory. It sets the tone.”

After that, however, she happily admits she’s a true purse girl!

“I love purses (and shoes and jewelry), but my purse collection comes first!”
