Fashion Fit for a Queen

She’s a beauty queen inside and out! Meet Dr. Ann Nivens, winner of the 2025 Ms. North
Carolina Senior America pageant.

Ann recently caught our eye when we saw her featured in the August 2025 issue of Lake
Norman Currents magazine. In addition to unveiling her success on the pageant circuit, the
article captured her passion for education, child advocacy, entrepreneurship, music and making a positive difference in the world. With such a fascinating and diverse background, we felt that Ann would be the perfect choice to represent CoCo Couture.

Ann’s list of accomplishments is long and impressive. She began her career as an educator in 1976, serving as a teacher and educational leader for over 40 years. In 2006, she earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University and holds both Principal and Superintendent certifications. Her body of work has resulted in numerous awards, including Teacher of the Year, Assistant Principal of the Year and the Distinguished Star Award for Educational Improvements. These accolades underscore Ann’s commitment to supporting and strengthening public education and enabling students to succeed in a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Although she retired in 2010, Ann has not slowed down in her servant leadership role. She volunteers as a Guardian-ad-Litem, representing abused and neglected children in court. She also serves as President of the Mooresville/Lake Norman Rotary Club, furthering the mission of “Service Above Self.” And in her spare time, Ann sings, dances and plays the drums for children’s charities.

Above all, Ann cherishes her role as mother of four and grandmother of six. It was a joy to get to know Ann and watch her model her favorite looks from the CoCo collection. She even styled a few of her looks with her tiara and sash! From beauty queen to fashion queen, here’s Ann in all her glory:
