Pre-season tailgate food and the perfect game day outfit!

Now I don't know if you're anything like me, but I love cheering my sports teams into victory and I LOVE throwing a huge party too! I have the perfect tailgate recipe that is easy and super yummy and also the perfect outfit to wear to either the game or around the house while you spend time with your friends and family watching the football games!

Mini Chili Cheese Dog Bites! 

Super easy and also the stereotypical arena food without all the mess!

Serves 10 to 12

Ingredients:

For the chili

• 1 (4 ounce) package Carroll Shelby’s Chili Mix
• 2 (15 ounce) cans black beans
• 1 (14.5 ounce) can cut tomatoes
• 2 cups cooked ground beef or ground turkey
• 2 cups water

For the mini chili cheese dogs

• 8 hot dogs
• 8 hot dog buns
• Chili
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
• 2 cups chopped tomatoes (heaping)
• 2 avocados, chopped
• 2 cups chopped green onions, including the green part

Directions:

For the chili

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Add all ingredients to an oval roasting pan and stir together.
3. Bake in a preheated oven until desired thickness is reached (about 1 hour).
4. If you prefer a thinner chili, add more water until desired consistency is reached.

For the mini chili cheese dogs

1. Cook the hot dogs on a grill or boil them in water.
2. Put each hot dog in a bun.
3. Cut each hot dog (and bun) in thirds.
4. Top each hot dog with the hot chili either right out of the oven or reheated before use.
5. Add the cheese over the hot chili.
6. Top with the tomatoes, avocado and green onions.
7. Serve the extra chili in small bowls for your guests to enjoy.
