Way's to wear Pastels

Frank Lyman Floral Spring Dress 2020 Collection
Pale Blue Signature Top Paired With Metallic Jean

This Spring, make your wardrobe come to life with colours- or should we say, pastels?!  Shades of blush, powder blue and of course my all time favorite....lilac will take over the basics in women's wardrobes and add a wave of freshness and you will feel revived and refreshed with just a "touch of colour."   Are you wondering how to incorporate this soothing colour palette into your life this season?  Here are five ways to dive right in!  Oh...and don't forget...CoCo Couture offers complimentary wardrobe consultations!  Yep...that's right!  It's FREE!  Simply email us a time and what your in the market for and we will handle the rest!  We will even have a bottle of MOET on ice waiting for you!  Now that's a shopping experience you won't forget!

1.  Monochrome:  no..this isn't the name of a new light fixture of hardware for your flat screen!  Nothing is easier than monochromatic dressing-just choose one colour and stick with it throughout your outfit.  Wearing a single shade from head to toe makes for a harmonious ensemble each time.  It's really that simple, too-start by getting a top in the same tone as your pantsuit, and you're set.  If you want to amp up your look and add appeal with ease, opt for a more detailed top, like a ruffled blouse or blazer with zippers.  CoCo Couture has just the look for you.
Monochromatic Look....simple, sleek and elegant!

This jumpsuit by Frank Lyman has a pleated pant that is not only comfortable and great for travel but the perfect example of a monochromatic look.  Sleek, simple and elegant!

2.  Gradation:  When wearing pastels, there are several ways to avoid incompatible outfit combinations. When wearing pastels, there are several ways to avoid incompatible outfit combinations.  One way, is to play with different hues of a single colour; mix up the default tone with its lighter and darker variants.  Take blue, for example, an essential closet staple; pair a sifter shade of blue with a print that has a hint of the same hue in it, and classic navy jeans (Frank Lyman has the best jeans ever).

3.  Neutral:  When the time calls for it, a neutral pastel outfit can be both feminine and daring!  For your workdays, mix and match your powdered styles with natural tones to balance the ensemble.  Make sure to incorporate some beige, white and grey (see below) into your professional wardrobe so that you can easily adapt a playful option.  This is the ideal way to wear pastels for those who don't want to overdo it at their workplace.  My personal favorite is this #JosephRibkoff skirt and jacket combo that screams CHANEL (without the price).

4.  Contrast:  Are soothing shades not a part of your usual colour palette or rotation?  Do soft tones frighten you?  Ever heard the phrase...."oh that colour does not work well with my skin tone?"  Simply consider incorporating some black with your pastel ensembles.  When you mix the dark shade with your pastel pieces, it stands out and they'll appear less flashy and more coordinating because they contrast the somber neutral creates.  With this more subtle way of dressings, you definitely won't have to step outside your comfort zone.  Try a few of these looks for your upcoming Spring wardrobe.

5.  Bright & Bold:  This method of pastel dressing is the most colourful of all, it's inspired by the juxtaposition of coulours!  This is one sure fire way to express your personality.  One way to get the blooming look?  Opt for a vibrant pink (my personal favorite), like one of our floral motif blouses, and complete your ensemble with a solid piece-or pieces-in a matching shade.  For an outfit that packs a punch, pair with a signature #SusanShaw necklace or a specialty #FrenchKande necklace!
