Beyond Her Wildest Dreams

She wasn’t an overnight success.

Board certified Dermatologist Dr. Naomi Simon worked extremely hard for years to achieve the enviable life she enjoys today. Her 20-year marriage, her two little ‘Cub Scouts’ Elias and Samuel, and her Mooresville Dermatology practice, Eterna Aesthetics, are the result of doing the hard things that some people told her she couldn't or shouldn't do.

Dr. Simon actually had people tell her not to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor for a variety of reasons. She heard everything from “it’s too much work” and “you won’t be able to have a family” to “no man will marry you.”

(They said WHAT?!)

As Dr. Simon stated, “For me to be really happy in life, I needed to be a doctor and so I wasn’t going to give up that dream. Also, I always wanted to be a mom. I thought that I would just do both! (I thought) we’re going to be happy, healthy and successful even with me being a full-time doctor.”

Just wow. Truly wow.

In 2008, after completing medical school in Ann Arbor Michigan and after the birth of her first son Elias, the whole family moved to North Carolina. In 2010, Dr. Simon launched Mooresville Dermatology Center and had her second child Samuel. Even while caring for her newborn son, Dr. Simon managed all the challenges of launching her practice. She planned the opening of Mooresville Dermatology -- including hiring staff and designing the interior -- during her four-month maternity leave. This is a woman who doesn’t hold back!

As we soon learned, Dr. Simon’s most attractive quality is not only her steadfast nature in the face of challenges, but also her genuine humility. She believes that she wouldn’t be where she is today without putting her trust in God and leaning on her supporters. She credits her hard-working parents as her number one inspiration, as well as her husband Miguel, an immigrant from Cuba and three-time cancer survivor. To get through busy days, she follows this simple, yet powerful principle: prioritize God, family and loving other people first.

Dr. Simon's story is proof that, in spite of what others may say, your dreams matter and hard work does pay off.

Dr. Simon stated, "Owning my own Dermatology practice and being a doctor is such hard work but work that makes me grateful every day that I get to make a difference in people’s lives."

We were lucky enough to spend a Friday afternoon with Dr. Simon when she stopped by CoCo Couture for a style session and photo shoot. Hanging out with this inspirational woman breathed new life into the entire CoCo team. When you meet her, she instantly feels like a true girl’s girl who is by your side in solidarity and strength. We all need more women like that in our corner, right?

Oh, now for the fashion! Here are the CoCo ensembles that Dr. Simon chose.

Life is Beautiful

For the girl that loves nature, blooming black roses on a fitted mock turtleneck are the perfect accent.

Sweet & Sultry

Dr. Simon paired a textural blush cardigan with a sultry navy jumpsuit.

“We shouldn’t live like we have forever. We should live like we don’t have forever, because we don’t.”

Spectacular Silk

The roomy legs, pockets and loose tie waist gives this one-piece wonder a more relaxed feel, while the sophisticated silhouette and silk construction makes it date-night ready.

“Just being outside...participating in Cub Scouts with my two boys...that’s how I relax. Being in nature.”

Tulip Pink

A poppy pink color and a flattering flutter neckline reads feminine and refined on this Frank Lyman blouse.
