Meet Janice DaCosta — best-selling author, life coach, TEDx producer, global logistics leader, and founder of The Mind Shift Experience. Born in the Bronx, New York, Janice has transformed her life experiences into a mission centered around empowering others through emotional healing, confidence, and personal transformation.

Janice is also the founder and creator of TEDx @ Mallard Creek and author of “Pay Yourself First: The Blueprint to Emotional Wealth.” Through her coaching and speaking, she continues to impact countless lives by encouraging people to embrace their worth and reclaim their power.

When asked about her favorite quote — one that has deeply shaped her perspective on life — Janice shared:

“For a long time, it’s easy to feel small, like you’re just a piece of something bigger… easy to overlook, easy to replace. This reminds me that I’m not a fraction of anything. I carry depth, power, and an entire world within me — not something I have to earn, something I already am. You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.”

The elegance and confidence Janice carries is undeniable, and her sense of style reflects that same quiet strength.

When asked what she would wear to a White House Gala, Janice described her dream look as:
“A champagne silk bias-cut column gown with a clean square neckline — minimal, fluid, and quietly striking.”

Her passion for empowering women extends far beyond fashion. The charity closest to Janice’s heart is the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence because of its mission to support women in vulnerable situations and help them reclaim their strength and safety.

Janice shared that her professional path was shaped through life experiences that led her toward helping others experience deep transformation and emotional growth. Her ability to connect with people authentically is what makes her such a powerful advocate and leader.

In her spare time, Janice enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and travel blogging. One of the craziest adventures she has ever taken? Traveling completely alone through Rome, Pompeii, and Positano — an experience she says pushed her beyond her comfort zone and reminded her of her own strength and independence.

And when it comes to fashion accessories, Janice believes shoes are everything.
