The Queen of Frank Lyman Designs

If you have spent any time at CoCo Couture, chances are you already know Jill Runnion. And if you know Jill, you know there is one designer that seems to have been created especially for her: Frank Lyman Designs.

Around CoCo, we lovingly call Jill the “Queen of Frank Lyman”—and she wears that crown beautifully!  From sophisticated jackets and statement pieces to perfectly coordinated looks, Jill has an incredible ability to make Frank Lyman fashion look effortlessly elegant.

But there is so much more to our Top Model than fabulous fashion.

Meet Jill

Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Jill spent much of her professional life helping others. She earned her degree in Special Education from East Carolina University and taught for approximately 18 years.

Later, opportunity came knocking and Jill took an entrepreneurial leap, opening her own computer training company, which operated in North and South Carolina for approximately 10 years. Going from special education teacher to successful business owner speaks volumes about Jill—she is intelligent, motivated, compassionate and never afraid of a new chapter.

Today, she is retired from teaching and business ownership, which gives her a little more time for some of the things she loves—including fashion!

 Music Is the Key to Her Heart

Jill’s favorite quote says so much about her:

“Music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed heart opens.”

Music has been a great love in Jill’s life since she was just four years old, and it remains an important part of who she is today.

It should come as no surprise that one of her favorite things to do is go see live music. Add in swimming, and you have a pretty good idea of how Jill enjoys spending her free time.

And when we asked about the craziest dare she has ever accepted? Jill’s answer made us smile: Don’t recall ever being “dared” to do anything! Apparently, our Queen makes her own decisions! 

 A Heart for Children & Families

With her background in special education, Jill’s love for children and families runs deep. She is especially passionate about organizations such as Make-A-Wish and Ronald McDonald House Charities, which support children and families facing serious health challenges.

It is another wonderful example of the heart behind the fashion.

 Meet Bella & Buttons

Jill is also a proud dog mom to two pups—Bella, a poodle, and Buttons, a Maltipoo. She describes them as fun, energetic and loving to everyone.

We have a feeling those two have their human very well trained!

 If the White House Called…

Naturally, we had to ask our Top Model what she would wear if invited to a gala at the White House.

Jill would choose black, navy or burgundy and, true to her signature style, her gown would be sophisticated, elegant and tailored with a V-neck.

In other words: classic Jill.

And we wouldn’t be surprised if there were a little Frank Lyman involved somewhere!

 The Accessory That Makes the Look

When forced to choose between shoes, jewelry or a purse, Jill doesn’t hesitate: jewelry—especially earrings.

She believes earrings add so much to an overall look, and we couldn’t agree more. The perfect statement earring can completely transform an outfit and give it that final bit of personality.

Jill is no stranger to CoCo Couture. She has been part of our CoCo family, and seeing her walk through the door always makes us smile.

She understands something we believe wholeheartedly at CoCo Couture: fashion isn’t about an age, a size or simply following a trend. It’s about finding pieces that make you feel confident, beautiful and completely yourself.

And Jill certainly knows what works for her.
