Meet CoCo Couture’s Featured Top Model: Judy Hodson

At CoCo Couture, our Top Model program is about so much more than beautiful clothes. It’s about celebrating the incredible women in our community—their personalities, their stories, their passions, and the qualities that make each of them uniquely beautiful.

This month, we are delighted to introduce our Featured Top Model, Judy Hodson!

A Charlotte Girl at Heart

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Judy is now retired, but her story is filled with years of work, music, faith, friendship, and service to others.

When asked about her career, Judy will quickly tell you that she never really had just one profession. Over the years, she worked for several different banks, but music has also been an important part of her life.

Judy has been a church organist since she was just 16 years old! Through the years, she has shared her musical talents at countless church services, weddings, and funerals. Even today, she continues to substitute at her church, Mt. Zion UMC.

We love that music has remained such a meaningful part of Judy’s life for so many years.

Style With a Splash of PINK!

Of course, we had to ask our Top Model one of our favorite fashion questions:

If you were invited to a gala at the White House, what would you wear?

Judy knows exactly what she wants!

She would choose a beautiful shade of pink—perhaps fuchsia—in an elegant gown with a full skirt.

Now THAT sounds like a CoCo Couture kind of entrance!  We can already picture Judy making her way into the gala in a fabulous, feminine statement gown.

A Cause Very Close to Her Heart

Behind Judy’s wonderful personality is an incredibly compassionate heart.

The charity she is most passionate about is the Warrior Jace Foundation, an organization established after Jace Thompson lost his battle with childhood cancer at only four years old.

Jace’s mother is a good friend of Judy’s, making this cause especially meaningful to her. Judy shared that the money raised through the foundation is used to help fight childhood cancer.

It is a beautiful reminder that fashion may bring us together, but it is the hearts and stories of the women wearing it that truly matter.

Words to Live By

Judy also shared a favorite quote with us that certainly shows her sense of humor and outlook on life:

“If I’m too much, go find less. I’m not running a clearance sale!”

We LOVE it!

There is something wonderful about a woman who knows who she is, embraces it, and isn’t interested in diminishing herself to make someone else comfortable. And that little reference to a clearance sale makes it even more appropriate for one of our CoCo Couture ladies!

A Carolina Girl With a Love for Music

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Judy is now enjoying retirement, but she has certainly had an interesting and varied career.

Judy says she never really had just one profession. She worked for several different banks throughout her career, but one constant in her life has always been music.

Judy began playing as a church organist at only 16 years old and has continued sharing that gift throughout her life. She has played for countless church services, weddings, and funerals and still substitutes at her church, Mt. Zion UMC.

We absolutely love that something Judy began as a teenager remains such an important part of her life today.

Shopping, Music & Good Times

It probably won’t surprise anyone at CoCo Couture to learn that when we asked Judy about her hobbies, one of the very first things she wrote was:

“I love to shop!”

Now THAT is our kind of Top Model!

Judy also enjoys playing the organ and piano, playing cards and games, and spending time doing the things she loves with others.
